Introduction to M’TAM

The science of reading the Earth energies is over 70,000 years old, originating in the temples of Thebes, Memphis, and Abydos and known by modern science as Geomancy. Parts of this science can be found all over the world, but the original form of the readings is known as M’TAM and is still practiced by the Gourmantche people of West Africa.

The Earth is a concentration of energies on and in which the destinies of every component of life is traced. The notion of energetic forces applies to every component of the Universe. It is the relationship among diverse forces (the dialogue of energies) that determines life and its principles. M’TAM is the system that studies the energetic currents that are emitted or received by Earth and their influence on humans and nature.

The most common system of predictions in the modern world is astrology, which operates on the principle that planets and stars influence our mood, character and destiny. If astronomical objects over 350,000 kilometers from Earth are capable of influencing humans, what about the planet on which humans are living? Bayuali (Earth Energy) Readings translate the energies of the Earth and how they affect humans and their environments in space and time

ABOUT THE READINGS

The language of the Bayuali monthly readings can appear foreign and elusive to the common reader with no knowledge of M’TAM science. To better help our readers understand and benefit from their readings we have created a short explanation of some of the common terms with which you may not be familiar.

The general reading starts by explaining what the constellation of terrestrial and celestial energies in relation to the ruling Divinity of the period express for your life. That expression is dictated by the energies coming from your father’s side or “bloodline” (male energy poles) and your mother’s side (female energy poles). When these energies are connected with Earth they present a harmony. If they present an expression they are actively contributing in how your destiny is playing out. When they present a lack of expression they are not taking part in your destiny and whatever the Earth dictates for you is what will be.

Your destiny is played out in the Small and Great houses where your Ancestors live. Your Small House is where most things take place that you can perceive; it can be identified as your destiny. Your Great House is where your Bloodline Ancestors live and it is where the unseen or spiritual aspects of your destiny are played out.

The practical life exposes what the reading presents to you in order to balance your energies, providing you a direction to aim your prayers and wishes negotiating changes in your destiny.

HEALTH

Within the health section, the blockages in your body may be expressed in various ways: dysfunction, malfunction, sickness, etc.

WEALTH

“The outside” refers to where you are looking for your material well-being, it is anything that is outside of yourself. “Travel” refers to any movement that one takes beyond their home, workplace or daily regimens.

FEELING

When one is experiencing “energetic trouble” anything can become a reason for one partner to bring a problem to the other, even seemingly meaningless things within the environment.

The “Meditation Themes” are based on the most prominent aspects of your reading. It is beneficial to meditate on them as they are expressed in order to harmonize your energies in this period.

the sidereal calendar

The Bayuali (Earth Energy) readings are based on the astronomical calendar (Sidereal Calendar), which is divided into thirteen months. Much like modern horoscopes, a God or Goddess governs each month. Your birthday determines your sign. If your birthday falls between the two given dates, you have found your sign. If, however, your birthday falls on the first or last day of the time period, you have a “borderline date” and will need to refer to the years presented on the page of each reading. For example, if you were born on October 10, 1960, you will find that generally, ISIS rules over the period from September 11 to October 10. But, because your birthday is a borderline date, you turn to the readings on ISIS. The years shown tell you that in the year 1960, ISIS ended on October 9th. You find the next month, ruled by MAAT. In the year 1960, MAAT began on October 10th. Your sign would be MAAT. However, astronomically, a new day starts at sunrise, not midnight. So if you were born at 5:30am (before sunrise) on October 10, 1960 your sign will still, in fact, be ISIS.

EXAMPLES

If you were born on October 10, 1960 you will find that AISHAT (ISIS) rules over the period from September 11 to October 10. Because you birthday is a borderline date, you should check the list below where it says "BORN UNDER AISHAT". The years shown tell you that in the year 1960, AISHAT' rule ended on October 9th. You then find the next month, ruled by MAHATA. In the year 1960, MAHATA rules from October 10 to November 8, therefore you will now reference the readings for those born under MAHATA. It is also important to note that the Kemetic day starts at sunrise, therefore if you were born on October 10, 1960 at 2:00 AM, it will still be considered within the day of October 9, and in that case you would still reference AISHAT as ruling your birth day.
