The Importance of Self-Control

Lacking the ability to control one’s thoughts, actions and speech is something that has been a part of our conditioning in this system. We are raised to have reactive behaviors and to go about our lives on autopilot, with no need for manual functioning. This behavior is promoted to us on television, in movies, from our parents and fellow members of our society, etc. It is casually accepted that anger is one of the many aspects of being a "free" human being.
