Nowadays, even a blind person will tell you that this planet is dying. Only people with mental handicaps are still waiting for fresh evidence to convince them. Our awareness of the situation is not enough to protect us from disaster. That awareness should lead us to re-study the world and its values. We need to re-conquer human dignity and preserve civilisation by preserving the world as it has always been preserved, before the emergence of these doctrines of rebels with no cause and no future.

At every stage of our life, the vice and the evil of this world is waiting, and they do not miss the opportunities we offer them by turning us into criminals, responsible for all the evil of this world, gliding unknowingly from one evil act to another.

One major shift resulting from colonial education is that our identity as human beings is based on what we can achieve and do. For humanity’s ancestors our identity was defined by what we will not allow ourselves to do under any circumstances. The importance of this concept is tremendous for the modern individual. Any competent person can be trained to do anything, so that is a nominal aspect of our identity. One’s values and human quality will be based on the discipline one has to control himself/herself and protect the surrounding world from his/her evil. Today, we will have to determine if a system that has built its wealth from two millennia of pillage, murder, theft and destruction, offers us enough incentive to continue investing in its development rather than putting our energies into the institutions that educated humanity on living as a functioning member of this planet.

If we can remember and live by the truth that nature is our master, if we can be conscious of the action/reaction cycle at all times, if we can focus on defending and preserving something tangible, and if we can be ceaselessly vigilant in avoiding the traps in the emotional and psychological fields, then we may be able to cease being that donkey, evolve from a philosophy of “resistance” to an approach of “preservation” and start our journey on the refreshing and long path of representing something noble and great, rooted in the reality of existence.

The Maakheru starts by asking us to find out where our values come from? Anyone with a rudimentary knowledge of history knows that the values of people in the Diaspora are the values of our slave masters and colonizers. One of the reasons this challenge bothered me so much in the beginning is because I did not think that I had values. Certainly my mother had never explicitly sat me down and taught me any values. I picked them up subliminally from school and church and television but there were no values taught to me in any direct way. And if they were passed down to me it was in secret. My values came from the society that raised me and this society values money and power.

The initiate of M’TAM is in a similar position. The strength of the Ancestral education that the Prophet Neb Naba has brought to the children of the diaspora by the end of the first year is enough. If we have made it through overcoming the trials and tests that the first year of M’TAM initiation revealed we are clear on what is expected of us. We are clear on where we fit in the existence and that who we are is much greater than our physical boundaries, but our legacy reaches into the past as far as this very story. Our success in the internal battle that we are fighting will depend on our ability to remain spiritually and intellectually honest, and our discipline to always remember that that is where our only true battle exists.

Lacking the ability to control one’s thoughts, actions and speech is something that has been a part of our conditioning in this system. We are raised to have reactive behaviors and to go about our lives on autopilot, with no need for manual functioning. This behavior is promoted to us on television, in movies, from our parents and fellow members of our society, etc. It is casually accepted that anger is one of the many aspects of being a "free" human being.

The Prophet has brought out to the world humanity’s original language, meditative practice, and healing tradition that has been the template for all subsequent practice observed or utilized in our world today. Proof of the effectiveness of this culture and its civilizing qualities, can not only be found in the obvious fact that we are witnessing a cultural and spiritual renaissance born of its enduring quality, but also in the fact that the societies in which they were so carefully preserved are still intact to this day in the face of colonialism’s onslaught.

One of the reasons humanity is currently in such a state of degradation is because we have forgotten our culture, history and Ancestors: which are our foundational links to the Divine Beings who are at the apex of cosmic harmony.

One of the most important ingredients often used in traditional cooking in Meritah (Africa) is commonly known in markets in the modern society as “negro pepper” or “grains of selim” (xylopia aethiopica). This spice is very well known throughout the continent and therefore has many different names. It is known as “uda” or “uda ewitea seed” in Nigeria, “djar” in Senegal, “hwentia” in Ghana, “kieng” in Cameroon, and “sozey” in Togo to name a few. It is even known simply as “African pepper” or “Ethiopian pepper” or even “Senegal pepper,” so be sure to view the spices when you go to the market, because chances are they have it just under a different name.

Impurity and corruption we are told is waiting for us. Impurity can come in very subtle ways. It is not always an overt action with obvious results. It can be as subtle as how and what you are communicating to another. It can be a thought, or even inaction. We have to be aware of this and very consciously pay attention to what we are thinking and doing and check it against whether or not it is in conflict with the commandment “thou shall not be impure.”

To erase all autonomy from the people, the colonizer had to remove any need for the role of husband and father. Institutions were created to not only allow the government to fill the role of family leader but also of family provider. By supplanting the cultural monument of family and the resource that it can be within traditional communities, they were able to infect women with this materialistic thinking. To gain some independence from their position with men and enter a new value system, women had to give all of their submission to the colonial structure; a third party that could provide them resources while guaranteeing their equality.

So you can spend your life searching for the wealth that this society has convinced you of…investments, retail/fashion and real estate…because this is just the way that it is. Or you could spend your life building true wealth that the World of the Gods offer us through your own efforts and the work and mastery that you invest in yourself.

If the same Heru that arrived on Earth with the mission to combat evil does not see the wars, hungers, assassinations, slavery, genocide, racism, etc. as being the manifestations of evil, or if the God-child perceives all of these facts from a dualistic angle (us vs. them), he will spend his energy helping to destroy the works of his Ancestors. All this enters into the logic of the battle between the forces of good and evil!
