A Decade Later… His Spirit Lives, Thrives & Carries Us Through Pt. III

Ancestral Spirit: A Decade Later… His Spirit Lives, Thrives & Carries Us Through Pt. III

Far from the frigid Windy City weather outside, and an austere analysis of the world; he is about to unleash. His choice of words are incisive and spike a dagger straight to the heart of things. Although vehement, his words are never forced nor strenuous. The excerpt below is the fourth and final question and answer of many which he had fielded during our lengthy interview. Due to the copious content of this interview with Naba Iritah Shenmira, it will be broken down and released in parts. In today’s spiritual climate, the phrase “Honour your Ancestors” is thrown around by many organisations and individuals that never actually champion the Ancestors, but today it’s not being used as a euphemism. He shares without breaking flow because he is not speaking for himself, he speaks for the Ancestors he came from, urging him to be their spokesperson for the prophecies uttered and passed down from generations ago in the temples that are standing behind him.

WISAM: What would you say to people who recognise what you are saying and want to help but don’t know how to do so, what do you say to them?

NABA: That’s a good question, a pertinent question, that in order to try and answer: I have to ignore the context that those “people” who claim they are fighting against the colonial society are conditioned by what they claim to be fighting against. I have to give them the benefit of the doubt and that they have begun the process to work on their conditioning and they want to become (better) human beings again.

There’s nothing I could tell them that would assist because every human on this planet is like an entity that is alone on the face of this planet and existence. Each one of us is like an entity that is by themselves.

They will have to learn to not hide behind their weaknesses and shame but learn how to face them. Facing shame and weaknesses doesn’t make you less than, it just means you are a strong human with the will to move forward toward your becoming. It takes a lot of courage and strength to do so, which requires a high tolerance for suffering.

From the inception of when Master Naba brought the mission that The Earth Center carries, I’ve seen countless individuals from the West come to support it, that eventually rejected it to go back into the system.

I’ve seen people with a huge ego proclaiming, “I hate the system, my life, my parents, religion, science, the political gangsters, so something needs to happen!”

Then we say “Yeah, there’s only one thing you have to do... Start changing yourself”

Because all of the things that you say you hate are outside of you, they are not things inside of you, therefore you cannot control them. You need to work on what is inside of you, because if you change and start overcoming those things, one part of the world although small: Just changed and became.

But that’s immense for many and why do I say so? I’m young and somehow happen to be lucky enough to still be furthering this mission and the experience has showed me this is difficult for individuals who are western educated and conditioned. Because I have seen many come and go, and everyone has an excuse for why they have to go.

We have seen a lot of people who came and went, who at one point claimed “I’m going to die for this! And do this, and do that, and etc.” And yet those people are now back in the system, in the same thing they claimed to hate.

Spirituality or the cultural and spiritual revolution that we are conducting is not targeting anyone. It’s on you to target and work on yourself. When we say we don’t like science, politics, or religion, I’m not saying we don’t personally like those people, we just don’t like the way (politics, religion, & science) affect us.

We have to do something about that on an individual basis by analysing ourselves and changing what we see in ourselves that is a result of colonialism and its conditioning.

In my place we say “If you see crazy person taking off their clothes, what do you do?

Check to see if you have your clothes on. Because that crazy person might be copying you.

Check yourself and if you have clothes on, then good. Make sure that they’re tight and if they’re dirty, clean them. But if you check yourself and you don’t have clothes on, then don’t call that person crazy, because that crazy person was just copying a crazier person.”

Logically the next step would be you’re going to need to get some clothes back on if you don’t have any. But you need to have the humility to go ask someone, if you can have some clothes and that person will say “oh wow, this one is changing” and they will give you clothes because everyone is happy seeing someone changing, only this society is not happy seeing human beings changing. Where I am from, we want to see human beings change.

“Oh you need clothes? Wow you just changed; We can make some for you; here take these clothes and we will give you them with no strings attached as long as you know it is your responsibility to clean them every now and then”

This is what your society in the West, doesn’t understand, because society wants you to walk around naked. The gangsters in the science labs, the political and religious buildings want you naked.

Because if not, then they’re no longer above you, it’s not in their self-interest for you to put clothes back on.

Once you do, you’re the devil, just because you’re starting to be like them but now they claim you are the problem, not them.

It’s risky for people who feel like they are aware of all the things that we are talking about now and say they want to evolve because it takes sacrifice and you’re gonna have to sacrifice a lot of things and mostly it’s the things that are dear to us that needs to be sacrificed. Good deeds only come after sacrifice.

When I say sacrifice, I mean the parts of you that are holding you back from evolving that you have to get rid of. Sacrifice in that regard is big, which is why a lot of people just prefer hiding their shame and weaknesses and then talk a big game of “I’m a guru; spiritual Adept; A Priest, Priestess, God or Prophet”

This is the main face of the western society and once I see someone claiming “I am a prophet or God” I know that’s conditioning that has swallowed up everyone from this society. It has nothing to do with real spirituality, it becomes about authority or power dynamics. Most people have an authority or power complex that their government or political or religious leaders have inflicted on them and as a result of that, they don’t have any power to face them. So then the thinking becomes “I don’t like what my government is doing, so I direct my anger toward Naba or another outsider” and they will put it on me, thinking I’m the reason for their authority or power complex.

When in reality all it would take is for those people to exercise sacrifice because you cannot claim that you want to move forward, with a rope on your neck, that is still tied to a tree. Don’t blame someone who doesn’t have a rope on their neck.

Honestly I don’t see how the approach of someone that claims to know and is behaving or walking in that manner that’s been conditioned is leading anywhere but self-destruction.

I prefer the approach of someone that’s investing and checking themselves so they can get out of that self-destruction cycle of claiming to know when you have no idea. In order to truly become a cultural or spiritual revolutionary, you have to decondition yourself. If not, you’re just a robot with no survival skills. You depend on the fridge, microwave, the washing machine and all these modern conveniences. Take a look at all these things and ask yourself “is this evolution or degeneration”?

The Earth Center is bound to help those people that want to decondition themselves and it’s not going to be by contributing to their degeneration. It’s going to be in regenerating your cognitive facilities and that is difficult. It’s our job to do so.

The first step to reclaiming your culture is cleansing yourself of conditioning. Culture starts with learning how to clean yourself. Spirituality starts with cleaning yourself. Everything needs to be step by step, I cannot pour knowledge on someone who is dirty. In our work, cleanliness of the body, the mind and the spirit are a key principle.

The Earth Center and M’TAM have a strong reason to live for something... If you cannot be a star in the sky, be a firefly on the Earth. The mission is to continue to carry the torch for those that which to clean themselves of colonialism.

We hope to see humanity under the same tree, choosing to clean up, evolve, reject selfishness and living like animals and decide to be human again. Some people tell us that this is a dream and keep dreaming, ... But we are allowed to dream.
